The Carnegie Building, Rochester, NY
HSE partnered with Pardi Architects on this mixed-use building located on North Goodman Street in Rochester, NY.
The Carnegie is a 80,500 square foot building with a 1 story podium, containing 14,320 square feet of at grade parking, 1,780 square feet of retail space as well as 4 floors of apartment residential space above totaling 64,400 square feet. The 51 apartments are both one and two bedroom units, along with a fitness room for tenants, fully equipped with state of the art exercise equipment.
HSE engineers designed and performed the calculations for this building’s wood roof and floor trusses, wood shear walls, precast hollow-core plank, steel column and girder system as well as the foundations.
We also designed the necessary lateral force resisting system including wood shear walls and moment connections for the steel including bracing, where room allowed.
Wood frame walls were designed to support the gravity loads as well as the necessary foundations and retaining walls.
